Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year - Kindergarten - GSRP - Young 5s

Dear Rainbow Families,

It is my honor to welcome you to the Rainbow Early Childhood Education Center for the 2024-2025 school year! I hope you have had a great summer break. We have been busy getting the school ready and are looking forward to having a full and bustling school with many opportunities for learning, growth, and making new friends. 

If you are interested in bus transportation, and have not filled out the transportation request form, please do so at this link. Transportation will be making contact with families before school starts with bus stop information. The current Clintondale bus routes are available on our website. 

 If you are interested in Latchkey, please stop in at the Rainbow Main Office and see Ms. Kibbe weekdays from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., or give us a call at (586) 791-3500, and we can email you the forms.

  • The first day of school for Young 5s, and Kindergarten classes is Tuesday, Sept. 3, and is a regular full day of school starting at 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m.        

  • The first day of school for Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) classes is Tuesday, Sept. 3, for the morning class from 8:30 -11:10 a.m. and from 11:45 a.m. -2:25 p.m. for the afternoon class. 

  • The first day of school for Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) Preschool  classes will be Monday, Sept. 9, with the first week being half days, starting at 8:15 a.m. and ending at 11:30 a.m.  The first full day of learning for GSRP will be Monday, Sept.16, starting at 8:15 a.m. and ending at 2:45 p.m. 

Each morning Rainbow students will line up in the gym after entering from the main parking lot in the front of the building. At the end of the day,  students will be released from the front doors. Please be patient and courteous in our parking lot at arrival and dismissal so that everyone is safe and protected. We are a full school and will have several buses; and many vehicles, people, and children on the grounds.

Please follow all traffic rules in addition to our school campus rules:

  • The entrance closest to Finley Street is ENTER ONLY

  • Please EXIT ONLY from the parking lot exit driveway closer to Colman.

  • Families who need to help their children out of the car must park in the large main parking lot in front of the school.

  • The lane closest to the building from the entrance driveway is drop-off only and should move quickly - no standing or parking, stopping only.

Some important information and upcoming events:

  • Class lists will be posted in the windows of the entrances on Thursday, Aug. 30 by 3 p.m. 

  • Click to see the Rainbow school supply lists.

  • Meet the Teacher Night, Thursday, Sept. 5,  from 6 - 7:30 p.m.

  • Late start days on the calendar begin at 9:15 a.m.
