2026-2027 Welcome Letter

Dear Rainbow Early Childhood Center Families,

We are excited to welcome your child to Rainbow Early Childhood Center! Our goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where every child can learn, grow, and feel supported.

If you are still completing enrollment, please visit the Rainbow Early Childhood Center and return all required documents and forms in your enrollment packet as soon as possible. Completing enrollment promptly will help secure your child’s placement for the 2026–2027 school year.

We are also accepting GSRP Preschool applications for families seeking a preschool placement. If you know a family who may benefit from GSRP preschool, please encourage them to contact Rainbow as soon as possible. Enrollment is limited.

Childcare and Latchkey (before/after-school childcare) are available. Please call Ms. Melissa at 586-790-7603.

Important Dates

  • September 1–2 – GSRP Preschool  Individual Screenings
    Your child should attend with one parent or guardian. Please plan for approximately 40 minutes with the teacher. If you have not selected a screening time, contact Ms. Sarah at 586-791-3500.
     
  • September 4 – Classroom Lists Posted
    Classroom assignments will be posted on the front doors by 3 p.m.
     
  • September 8 – First Day of School for ECSE and Young 5s
  • September 8–11 – GSRP Preschool Home Visits
  • GSRP teachers will conduct home visits with enrolled families.
  • September 10 – Title I Overview Planning Meeting
    5:30–6 p.m.
     
  • September 10 – Open House/Meet the Teacher
    6–7 p.m.
     
  • September 14 – First Day of School for GSRP Students


School Times

  • School starts at 8:15 a.m.
  • Doors open at 8:10 a.m. Please make sure students arrive on time.
  • Dismissal is at 3 p.m. for GSRP and Young 5s. Parents must be on time for daily pickup.
  • ECSE families: Please follow the half-day schedule provided by your child’s teacher.
