Meet the Principal

I’m Cara Cottrell and I have been the principal of Rainbow Elementary since 2014. Rainbow Elementary is a small school with a big heart and a focus on developing a sense of belonging for all in our community.

I am proud to come from a family of teachers. My grandmother, my dad, my sister and my husband are all teachers. Teaching is our family business. I have worked for Clintondale Community Schools since 1999. I met my husband while teaching at Parker Elementary and he is currently a teacher at Clintondale Middle School. Go Dragons!

At Rainbow Elementary, students are cared for by the entire staff. Our teaching staff is dedicated to our students and the profession, they are continuous learners and implement best instructional practices. The students at our school are the reason I love my job. Being a part of a community of engaged learners, dedicated teachers, caring staff, and supportive parents is truly remarkable.

Parents and families are central to Rainbow Elementary. Our active and passionate parent community partners with us to positively impact student learning. Parents and families are encouraged to join the PTO and become involved with various school and district projects, committees, and groups.
